You can get presets for portrait, landscape, urban, weddings, black & white, grunge, and just about any other type of image you can think of. The good thing about presets is that they apply a uniform look to all the images you apply it to, and that’s good if you have a lot of images to edit. in an image, and when you apply one to your image, it will change it according to the ‘pre-set’ parameters. Fog and mist can sometimes mess with your white balance settings, but if you don’t want to shoot in RAW, put your camera’s WB on overcast or cloudy. Shooting in RAW format is best, not only because you have a far higher resolution image than JPEG, which you can post-process without fear of degrading image quality, but because you can fine-tune your white balance in post-processing. You’ll need to be ready to shoot when the sun comes up, so it’s wise to get all your gear set up in plenty of time, and this includes your tripod.
